Specifications
New and Unpainted Surfaces:
No priming is required when coating new or unpainted plaster, cement rendering, fair-faced concrete, brick stone etc. Surface to be painted must be clean, dry and free from grease and other impurities. 3 coats are recommended allowing 4 hours between coats.
Previously Painted Surfaces in Sound Conditions:
Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from any contamination. No primer is required. However, when recoating on gloss paint, the surface must be abraded with sandpaper to provide a key. Apply a coat of Duracoat Universal Undercoat. Leave to dry for 24 hours and then apply 2 coats of Duracoat Duraplast, allowing 4 hours between coats.
Previously Painted Surfaces in Unsound Conditions:
Loose, flaking, powdery material must be removed prior to painting. Walls which were previously painted with low grade paint, dampers, white wash, cement paints and lime wash must be completely sanded down to firm base or original plaster. Any surface cracks or holes should be raked out and filled with Supafix Crack Filler (Supafix Crack Filler is not recommended for external use). Treat surface for mould or algae if present with Duracoat Fugicidal Wash and ensure that the surface is completely dry. Apply at least one coat of Duracoat Penetrating Primer to seal the surface prior to applying Duracoat Duraplast. Insufficient surface preparation and treatment of deteriorated and mould infected surfaces will result in complete failure of the new paint system in a short while.
Storage:
Store in a cool and dry place. Close tins tightly and use within 3 months.
